Painting Progress 2016

Description

Wow, it's been way too long. XD
Anyways, my painting progress screenshot thingy...
I still need to paint the dress and accessories, but that's technically how I paint.

Not really meant for beginners.. :/
I don't mind answering questions for those lost... XD

Rough Sketch Phase:
Usually I draw a horribly bad rough sketch to draw what I want. This doesn't mean the sketch is the final thing, I always adjust/change the picture at the end. Never ends up looking like how it started off with. XD

Rough Rendering Phase:
This part is obviously the most important and longest, because this is where I transform my 2D crappy sketch into a solid, semi-3d masterpiece of art~
I usually figure out where I want the light source to be and then add the shadows from there. The Dodge and Burn tool are used the most for this process. Then off to shaping the muscles and form of the subject.
I tend to flip my canvas often to check for mistakes. Painted in the hair after I rendered the face enough.

Smooth Rendering/fixing Phase:
This is where I just grab my giant soft brush and lightly smooth out some areas that SHOULD be smooth, without getting rid of the needed hard shades. Also fixed the background, added the eyes, adjusted some anatomy problems.

Coloring:
Finally the coloring. There's several ways to go about coloring a gray scale painting.
Curves
Adjust Layers with colors on them
Brush method with different brush modes.
etc.
I mix around all three I listed to get the color I wanted. After I'm done with the skin, I usually adjust the colors a bit more by using the Color Balance. I add more color(blush, contour, back light) with a giant soft brush set on soft light.

Fixing/Adjustment Phase:
This is where I usually ask all the people I know if the image is lacking or seem off. Then I adjust it like hell with the liquify tool, flipping my canvas often, and some adjustment layers.

Tools:
Photoshop CS6
Time: I've lost count.. :/

Feel free to download it, just don't claim it as your's. >/
